Find Somewhere Without Signal
Hi, I’m Alex Brown. A long time ago, I decided I’d never wear a suit. Instead, I left my small hometown on the south coast of England at 16 and set out into the world. In my teens, I travelled the globe as a professional kiteboarder, chasing wind and waves. But what really stuck with me was photography, shooting films, and writing stories.
Ever since, I’ve been inspired by people, places, and the wild beauty of nature. These days you’ll find me working from my home in the Spanish Pyrenees, or parked up out the back of my old VW T3 camper van.

Why Print, Why Today?
Advanture Magazine is a premium independent print publication dedicated to exploring the vanlife culture and the people who live adventurously on the road. Founded out of a passion for storytelling, design, and alternative travel, Advanture celebrates life beyond the ordinary — whether it’s a weekend escape or a full-time journey across continents.
Each issue is crafted with care, printed on sustainably sourced materials, and filled with in-depth features, personal essays, photography, and interviews with the vanlife community. From DIY van builds to remote destinations, our pages spotlight real stories from real people who choose the road as their home and the outdoors as their playground.
I believe in slow journalism, thoughtful design, and supporting the growing global community of nomads, explorers, and creatives who redefine what it means to live freely. Whether you’re a seasoned traveller or dreaming of your first van conversion, Advanture Magazine offers inspiration, insight, and connection.
Join me and drive into stories that matter. One road, one van, one issue at a time.
Made by Nomads
I met my fiancée, Mascha Blome, in 2012 on an island in the Indian Ocean. We each had a plane ticket, £500, and a plan that ended at the departure gate. What came after was a life built out of movement. Four continents, countless breakdowns, and enough stories to fill a lifetime (or at least a few vanlife print magazines!). We haven’t been home since.
Advanture Magazine grew out of that life. It’s not about shiny new vans or playing the popularity contest that is Instagram. It’s about the grit and beauty of life on the go, imperfect film photographs, writing that took weeks to get started on, and the moments when everything goes wrong and somehow still feels right.
This isn’t a side project. It’s the way we live. And if you’ve ever been curious about the path unknown over home comforts and some shitty career job, then you’re already part of this story.
Get Involved
This vanlife print magazine was created for people who seek more than a few likes and the odd 👍 in the comments. Your friends and family back home don’t understand what you’re out there doing, but we do. Our pages are reserved for passionate storytellers. If you’ve got words, photos, or both … and the courage to share them … we’ve got an audience who wants to see it all.
So, what do we look for? Stories of slow travel and life on the road. Photography that feels intentional, not disposable. Tales of self-discovery, diary entries of things going wrong, and moments that only make sense once they’re told.
The stories we publish are real. Just like the people living them. Our readers are waiting in the passenger seat. So show us what drives you.
